Ingredients
- Flour – 2 cups
- Rosemary (and/or other Italian dry spices) – 1 tsp
- Yeast – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Sugar – 1/2 tsp
- Warm water – 1 cup
- Olive oil
Steps
- Mix dry ingredients – flour, salt, rosemary and/or Italian dry spices in a large bowl.
- Mix yeast and sugar into cup of warm water.
- Slowly pour warm water mixture into dry ingredients, mix with spatula until combined.
- Add splash of olive oil and use spatula to mix in.
- Pull and fold dough (see Step 3 Pull and Fold in Rustic Italian Bread recipe for instructions).
- Spray olive oil in a shallow pan.
- Even out the dough without pressing down.
- Let it raise for 1-2 hours.
- Poke holes evenly with fingers and spread rosemary, kosher salt (or tomato/toppings) and olive oil.
- Preheat oven to 450 degree and bake for 10 minutes.
- Lower to 400 degree and bake for another 15 minutes.
