Savory butter cookie 葱油奇曲

Ingredients

  • 10 tbsp softened salted butter (summer room temperature, or half way melt from fridge)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 very finely chopped green onion (to not clog the pipe tip)

Tools

  • Hand mixer
  • Parchment paper
  • Open star tip

Steps

  1. Start mixing 10tbsp of salty butter (summer room temperature, or half way melt from fridge)
  2. Slowly add 1/4 cup of powder sugar and continue to mix
  3. Mix with higher speed until the color turns to white, it should have a thinner consistency
  4. Slowly mix in the 1 cup flour in several parts, mixing thoroughly between each addition
  5. After the batter has reached fluffy texture, mix in finely chopped green onion
  6. Preheat oven to 350F
  7. Put batter in piping bag using open star tip. Set aside rest of batter in cool place
  8. Pipe cookies onto parchment paper, put cookies in fridge to keep cool if taking a long time
  9. Use two cookie pans (to prevent burning bottom)
  10. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edge turns light golden brown (watch carefully)
